John, I'm going to copy verbatim parts of a letter Rich handed out to everyone in attendance yesterday concerning mass production.
"Seaview is not in the manufacturing business! We will not be building and shipping SecureViews. This is all handled by outside contractors. However you will seee that we are helping out with demand by building SecureViews. Close to 200 cameras will be assembled here in the next 2 weeks. This amounts to approximately $100,000 in gross revenue.
I use the TDPT (top dollar production theory) in delivery. It's simply deliver the $499 camera orders that you have credit card numbers for first.
You have to remember, SecureView is not merely a product. It is a grouping of parts. Once you have all the pieces, you assemble the parts. This means you have many vendors constantly building the parts. So mass production has been going on."
When asked about the $9M in orders, Rich thought they would be able to fill them during this first quarter. They are getting new orders all the time as well so it's a continual process. They fund the addtional orders with proceeds from the ones just shipped. No it ain't perfect but it works without diluting our stock. I had visions of robots in some fancy factory assembling all the parts of secureview on the order of 3K/day but that seems to be down the road a bit.
We have a new PR coming this week so hopefully we will get more info.
