The shares are lodged with a Broker/Dealer. That's who would be selling the shares to you.
If you can keep from making your usual snipes and discuss a real deal, which you have said you are receptive to, then let's do something that would allow you to gain more shares at a price advantageous to you and allow this group of shareholders to sell their shares in time to take the tax loss they desire. Doing it this way will avoid disturbing the market and giving the market makers a chance to lower the bid in front of a large block of stock coming at them through the pipeline. That's good for you and good for us...and that's good business.
