#496 RE: DueDillinger #494

Yes it's true that the company has unreal many patents on the tech so it's basically impossible for someone to bring out a similar laser pico projector. Right now the company is the only laser projector on the markets but there are others who are working around it.

The reason it's not available yet in all the different distributor channels is only, and I'm mean ONLY because of the availability of the green lasers.

Corning and Osram are working for at least the last 12 months now on coming up with higher output of their green lasers and the had serious setbacks in their schedule. Green lasers in big quantities were supposed to be available in mid 09 and now it's the beginning of 2010 and they are gearing up now. Still not enough to really get going for MVIS but all else is ready for mass production and mass distribution.

They now have Vodafone in Europe and Mint in Australia and also somebody for Asia and everybody is waiting for the green lasers. LOL

Once this issue is resolved (and it will be soon) all systems are on go.

The CES will be interesting. MVIS will be one the main attractions there. From various tidbits I heard from CC's and other "chatters" out there I believe once the green laser issue is resolved APPLE will come into play here with MVIS. That's obviously a hunch only but from what I heard Apple sure likes us. MVIS is at the MacWorld as well every year.
