I dropped out of high school because when my mother moved to Miami I was forced to go to North Miami high. I had come from a basically civilized place and was put into that crime zone next to Opa Locka - basically a black school..
In Pennsylvania I had gone to the same high school as my mother. She cried a lot when she found out I wasn't attending school.
I clearly remember (back in the 1980's) in North Miami High standing in the hallway and being amazed that nobody picked up their feet when they walked. They dragged their feet purposely because it was the "in" thing to do among the retarded class.
I was in 11th grade and they were teaching the stuff I learned in Pennsylvania in 9th grade. North Miami sure did have a good football team though.
