#1363 RE: Traderfan #1360

Traderfan, anyone...I'm trying to figure out why SBAY gets only 30% (give or take) of the receipts...especially since they paid for/produced the movie themselves.

Who gets the other 70%? Surely it's not all going to taxes or the theaters.

And why would it depend on how much is spent on promotion anyway?

If you spend $10k or $10M on promition, why would your % take of the actual sales differ? Promotion costs are promotion costs, receipt sales are receipt sales.

It's a confusing pr- but I thought SBAY would be getting more than 30% of the receipts...a lot more.

Am I missing something?

(please don't think I'm bashing---I'm just trying to wrap my brain around what they're saying in this pr. Despite my personal dislike of Crane, I have always loved the sector SBAY is in, and I will probably buy back if they file an S-1 for Nasdaq)
