The property has an exposed kimberlite structure of some sort. (pipe, I think they said) That's the first step. Next, apparently a micro diamond has been found... so forget looking for indicators, this jumps that part and establishes that the pipe is diamondiferous.
The next phase is crucial though. We need to know if there are big stones and are they there in such quantities that make sense to establish a mine. To get this info we need a bulk sample. After that we'll probably need a couple more.
One thing that's going for us is the kimberlite is exposed... no huge overburden to dig through so some of the expense and guess work is cleared for us.
Long process... Cleared a few hurdles but there are a couple more. The most positive thing that we can say for now is that we're still in it.
