rocketeer: La Jolla isn't the bogeyman, in my book. That case is tenuous, at best. If there was a bogeyman in this drama, it was more likely to be LGB, an ardent opponent of CSMG and notorious shorter and naked shorter. As one example, in the 1990's, LGB shorted LTV (once a steel manufacturing giant) by selling more shares than existed in its entire O/S. Court records show LGB has operated under many guises in more than one country. It would have been easy for LGB to short CSMG from those perches as he had every reason to drive CMSG to ground to get the patents he coveted. The settlement w/LGB coincided quite nicely with a huge volume run and tripling of CTGI; lowman credits short covering.
