I suggested that an amicable solution between the heterosexual majority and the minority of homosexuals would be to create a new "institution", name it "Garriage", which would take care of some rights and duties of same sex couples in some civil and tax issues. Why is that not acceptable, in lieu of fooling around with the constitution? I think homosexual should yield the term "marriage" to heterosexuals, since we have had "copyrights" on that institution for a good 3000 years. Do you find any fault with such an approach in lieu of a constitutional amendment?
