Both Dell and HP may not redesign their PDA's to meet AMD challenge at all.

The reason for that is that HP nor Dell did not design any of the PDA they sell. Instead, those are just rebranded items from some chineese/taivaneese manufacturer, which name is hard to remember.

You probably will be surprised, but HP does not have specs of iPaq at all and they own no intellectual property over its internals. They have no idea what's inside the box. If they need to design something new, they will need to start 100% from scratch or hire someone who has a clue in Far East.
