Smells like time was/is a factor here. He could never have accom0plished so much in such a short time frame as John did without doing a reverse merger into a fully reporting shell. If he went the IPO route it would have been too time consuming and may have missed key opportunities. Needed to be public for acquisitions and key employees.
Since John is paying himself a $0/year salary, I don't think he's too concerned about extracting the maximum possible dollars from his own company anyway. He knows he's going to make a super killer fortune and is more interested in speed it appears to me and doing great things AKA glory and fast.
