Bomu hit gas indicating a functioning hydrocarbon system. Only future drills will tell if there is oil in block 2. What is important however, is Bomu results were released almost immediately... similar to dry hole announcements. Negative results get released quickly because there is no analysis to do.
Kina results, on the other hand, are taking time, 8 weeks so far. That's very positive, IMO. Likewise, all is quiet on the Lemba front... again, a good sign. Rock samples are being analized to determine porosity so volume calculations can be done. It all takes time. I amuse myself by thinking that the numbers came back so large that they went back to recheck their work! ;-)
All we can conclude from the posts about sources and birdies is that some posters like to read their own posts. There hasn't been a birdie yet that has provided anything close to useful.
In a nutshell, you are right. We don't know jack sh_t, and all the posts claiming otherwise are all full og Jack's family name.
