Seems like a pretty generic patent. The initial abstract states,"An x-ray scanning imaging apparatus with a rotatably fixed generally O-shaped gantry ring, which is connected on one end of the ring to support structure." I'm not a patent attorney but this machine is obviously connected on two ends. It's amazing that people can patent any idea they have without knowing how to make or ever making anything. I'm assuming that they already have a patent for their machine. Time for some DD. I can't imagine they would come this far and not have done a patent search. Off the subject, what type of Doctor are you? I'm just curious. It's nice to have insight from a medical professional.

Also, just curious, what spurred your motivation to finally make a post this evening after being a member of IHUB for so long and never posting before? TIA. A medical professionals advice on this matter would be very helpful.

This appears to be the patent for Medtronic's O-arm...

This particular medical device has been thoroughly discussed on this board... it's not Real-time 3D.
