I have bph and I am taking finasteride because it has lowered my PSA, reduced the size of my prostate, and to prevent cancer.

You’re much more informed about drugs than the typical consumer, who evidently is easily scared off by the bombardment of side-effect data in drug ads.

I wonder if the FDA’s requiring TV, radio, and printed drug ads to devote a substantial portion of their content to the enumeration of AE’s might be an example of The Law of Unintended Consequences and be a disservice to public health.
