One thing everyone needs to keep in mind in regards to a share dividend, is that the record date does not matter. I repeat, the record date does not matter. I have been through this a number of times. Splits are different, but for dividends, whoever owns shares the day before the dividend ex-date, will get the shares. No matter if you brought them that day and settlement awaits or three days prior and have the shares in your account. Buy the shares up to the ex-dividend date, and the shares are yours.

Yeah I don't think 3Q or the shareholder's meeting are going to do much for the stock. Wish I was wrong. I think, and this is all my opinion, that 3Q numbers are going to disappoint but the bone will be thrown out that 4Q will enable to hit the yearly numbers (but we won't get those til way into 2010 IMO). My gut is starting to finally agree with my head that this investment is about played out.

Another thing about dividends. Shorts have to pay dividends to the longs that they are borrowing from. I don't know how that is possible with a stock dividend, especially a private issue that has an unknown value. I do know that I have seen big pops before major dividends, as shorts cover to avoid paying dividends. I am not sure how this would affect naked shorts? Does anyone know? Do they have to cover?
