Got that one also. I was in the process of inputting my Citibank credit card number, SS #, Password, Pin, Numbered Swiss Bank account etc. when I noticed that........

1. I don't have a Citibank account
2. The Citibank account I don't have is not in Maylasia
3. Citibank seemed to be having trouble with the written English language.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to get a Citibank card first <g>.

Welles, These identify-theft attempts have been going on for months. First they hit eBay then PayPal, now Citibank and even my ISP. Most of these companies now have a place on their site where you can report and forward the emails for their investigation.

I warned a few days ago about ReservationRewards who gets people's credit card numbers somehow, somewhere on the Net (they got mine from PrintPal thru a promo I never signed up for). I immediately cancelled that credit card, but if this happens often enough, people will be afraid to shop online and many legitimate companies will be hurt.

re citibank scam.

yeah i got that and immediately reported it to citibank as fraud (where they have a note specifically about such stuff). fortunately, to me it was obvious since it wasn't even addressed to me. (i must have been on a the cc.)

headers can be forged. don't click raw ip addresses.
