China approves pilot project to service rural areas with wireless
China’s Ministry of Commerce has approved MediaG3’s pilot project for implementing mg3 wireless broadband service to over 900 million people in rural China.
The leading developer for broadband wireless product and interactive rich-media content delivery applications has estimated that an average of US$225,000 worth of its system and equipment required to service 10000 subscribers. In an initial commercialisation phase of 5 per cent of rural population, or 45 million subscribers, over US$1 billion worth of system and equipment will be necessary.
The approval from SARFT science and technology and the Ministry of Commerce ensures that the technology and application provided is consistent with China’s overall development plan. This also verifies the potential benefits, fitness, and viability of mg3 wireless in China market.
