I wasnt talking about 'insider trading'; I was talking about 'insider information', which means that a company official would release confidential information, or news, to only a select group of people, without making the 'news' public and accessible to everyone at the same time, which is, I think, illegal.
And the people who started the rumor still have not shown where the original rumor came from, so it continues to be a rumor, or lie, at this point.
