I am not bad mouthing you, I am saying your optimism flies in the face of any logic or empirical evidence. I am bad mouthing ITKG, I neither know who you are or care.
Unfortunately his response could be viewed as a microcosm of our society in general: complaining when things aren't handed to them on a silver platter; complaining when others don't live up to their expectations; complaining about some slight they believe they have suffered in the distant past; expecting something for nothing. Very few want to work for anything any more . . . and personal responsibility / accountability are a thing of the past. We're living in a "me first" society and I fear our country is doomed.
