I'm 1 of the Voom customers. Lose the signal every time it rains hard. On the other hand the other sat. & cable don't come close in HDTV so I'm keeping it till DirectTV gets more HD.

Off to work.

OT: Voom has alot of problems, the service itself is good if you have HD but they had a poor business model from the start.

$749 for the equipment, plus 80 per month. We spent 4K on our HD TV, then to have to spend even more on top of that? We held off until they offered free install and leased equipment for 9.95.

I've held on because their HD offerings are great and DTV's PQ sucks and just keeps getting worse. I wouldn't mind Dish picking them up since Dish's PQ seems to be alot better but their HD hardware is junk, at least the last revision.

Its a great idea but the dollars just don't add up, there were 40K subscribers as of last month.

We are even going to get DTV or Dish on top of Voom even with the PQ issues. We had a SD 36" in the bedroom and its nearly $20.00 per month to add a second Voom box, its better for me to get another service in the bedroom. They fail to realize many people don't own 2 HD boxes and should offer a cheaper SD Solution for the other TV's in the house.

We'll see, they jacked me around on a larger dish for 7 months and just gave me a 7 month credit, so I'll sit with them for a while.
