Also keep in mind that I think Cal Tech has the right sell the license to a number of different companies so this still will be a competative market. They only way to get exlusive rights is to actually buy that patent, which I do not think Cal Tech will sell. They are only selling a license and just like MP3 music file are licences by the Musicians for companies like I-Tunes, ZUNE, and many others to use.

Also I think Cal Tech may hold hundreds of patents on this tech. Knowing which of those patents are the best tech and how many companies have license to use them will be good info to have.

Take a look at this company they say they have exlusive rights to sell Cal-tech patent license to other companies such as VSPC. http://www.dtienergy.com/ If this is true then VSPC will not have a lock on this market. But that does not mean they will not be a player.
