A university study came to the conclusion that if we were to replace all transportation fuel in the US with algae fuel it would require the amount of land about the size of Maryland.

That is not much consdidering how much cheap sun drenched land that is in the Southwest and Texas.

btw, alglae can produce more than just oil. You know that right? and oil is not themost profitable revenue stream

Yup.. an area the size of lake Okachobee in Florida to produce all the energy the US needs.. check a map. With all the vacant land in Arizona and N Mexico, I think thats doable..
