Metanor Resources Inc.: Bachelor Lake Mine Work Accident, Northern Quebec Region


DESMARAISVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 3, 2009) - Metanor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MTO - News) regrets to inform that the search to find the three missing men following the mining accident on October 30 at the Bachelor Lake mine has ended after the third body was found during the evening of November 2nd. The accident happened while the miners were working on the rehabilitation of the mine shaft of the Bachelor Lake mine, in Desmaraisville, situated midway between Lebel-sur-Quevillon and Chibougamau, in the Northern Quebec region.


The miners are Mr. Bruno Goulet, 36, of La Sarre, Mr. Domenico Bollini, 44, of Amos, both working for Metanor Resources Inc., and Mr. Marc Guay of Amos, 31, an employee of contractor Montali from Val-d'Or.

Metanor Resources Inc. management is deeply saddened by this accident and ensure that the families have their full support during this trying ordeal. The Company also wishes to express its most sincere condolences to the friends and families of Mr. Goulet, Bollini and Guay.

We thank the mining rescue team, and all of Metanor Resources Inc. staff and others who participated in the search efforts.

We also wish to note the generous help received from neighbouring mining companies and suppliers in facilitating the pumping operations as fast as possible. We are very grateful and sincerely thank them.

The circumstances of the accident are presently unknown. The Company is working closely with the authorities.

During these trying times, Metanor Resources Inc. is grateful for the solidarity shown by its employees who ensured the continued activities at the Bachelor Lake mining facility and at the Barry Deposit.
