"And halfing the defense budget will solve every problem America has with its deficit."

I guess math is not your strong suit huh?
The chart you posted yourself says we spend $515 Billion on Defense. Halving it would save roughly $260 Billion.
Our deficit this year is $1.42 TRILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!
If we halved our defense budget we'd still be in the hole for more than $1 Trillion dollars....

Read this (from the AP no less):
"WASHINGTON — What is $1.42 trillion? It's more than the total national debt for the first 200 years of the Republic, more than the entire economy of India, almost as much as Canada's, and more than $4,700 for every man, woman and child in the United States.

It's the federal budget deficit for 2009, more than three times the most red ink ever amassed in a single year."

"The defense budget dwarfs everything else in our discretionary budget by a factor of 10x"

Again, National Defense is a proper function of the federal govt.
And btw, we don't spend more than the rest of the world combined. Given our current trajectory that day will come, but it is not here yet.

You don't seem to ever comment on our Mandatory budget which is greater than the Discretionary budget by a fair margin....wonder why? Could it be because it consists of nothing but broken social entitlement programs?
