Yes, as a start, his current studies are based on a pure silica, where we're concerned. He did start off with X13 years ago and has experimented with the metals, but it is indicated, in his estimation, the metal base C02 separations were not as economical and continues tweaking catalysts and the "popcorning"/creating porous Silica with biodegradable Amines, for acid gas applications.
Tho this is his main bulk of work, there are a number of closely related areas of study involving use of "nano" silica formations with catalysts the Doctor has done,, water purification for example.
