Will they be awarded additional contracts to recovery data from tapes? I would thinks so. NASA believes in them to the point JBII is the only company they use. Quite a recommendation imo.

If they realize the fees that other companies want, and realize that JBI does it for 22 bucks a tape, i think they would get awarded all contracts....

wasnt the range on this 750-3000 bucks on tape reading? from other vendors and that was non guaranteed 100% tape reading.

Cant remember the fees we were talking about several thousand posts ago, but feel like it was 100 or 200 just to look at the tape.

It's called a NICHE -- look it up.

JBII's tape-reading business with NASA is a niche for which there is no competition.

Well, if I had 30-40 year old computer tapes, guess where I would go to have the data recovered?

In fact before JBII read MY tape from the early 70's, I called several data recovery places and asked them about recovery of old 1/2 inch tapes from the early computer era. Their opinions of 100% recovery were not optimistic. Plus they wanted a $200 non-refundable 'assessment' charge.

I sent it to JBII, and they recovered 100% of the data on the tape. See previous posts for images, etc.

So the answer to your question is Yes......anybody with more than 4 brain cells to rub together will go to whoever has the only technology that guarantees 100% recovery. And they will also go to JBII because their price is much more reasonable than anybody elses...........z
