spoon, check out the late Pope John Paul II second encyclical where he instructs Christians to embrace capitalism (at the time of course the NY Times criticized him harshly for this - they don't believe in capitalism either). He knew, like others before him that socialism is a false/flawed pursuit. He also knew that to help the most, capitalism is the way. Of course we all practice charitable giving of our own free will and that is moral as well. As`opposed to the state mandating we do and they spend the $$$ where they see fit (read political cronies pet projects)
As for Obama winning by 56% - former mayor of NYC Ed Koch coined the phrase : "The voters have spoken and now they shall be punished". Pat Buchanan coined the phrase: "In a democracy the voters get the gov't they deserve".
