That's great. He use to play at a club in Houston back when he was 17. He was fantastic then. He'd do a set playing the songs from the album "Layla" and do another set of Johnny Winter stuff. Another 30 years of playing under his belt has not hurt. We were talking about Johnny Winter and he said he recorded an album with him in the 80's. I was trying to find it online.
If you're ever coming through Houston, I will hook you up with the blues. Something going on most every night.
Also if you like Alan's stuff, check out a good friend of ours, Mark May. Alan played on a couple of tracks on Marks cd "Telephone Road". Marks band toured with the Allman Brothers a few years ago and recorded with Dickey Betts.
