makesumgravy: a number of us, who play no favorites, have especially been harping on this administration, because of the off-balance support. I loathed the Dubaya administration and all the ramifications. However, there's no change for the better here. We don't have the luxury of time to give them a chance.

Granted, we are not going to see a decent president, until the voting populace educates themselves and says no to the ABTT Networks and the think tanks.

Makesomegravy I like the major push of your thinking, but I think you do to much supporting an idea and not enough taking each piece of information 1 by 1. I've dug into the specifics, generalizations of which I don't know the details are not something I use, I find out.

Am I a Bush fan? No I'm not, I am a Regan fan, and I don't think he was perfect, but pretty damned good. I admire much about JFK, but I think he was a scum bag who pulled his head out around the time he became president, he took up for the people in this country in a real way. I have a good idea he died for that.

Using the same level of discernment for specific facts as I did with JFK I do with Bush. I give him his due when I think he specifically deserves it, and I give him a verbal rashing where I think he deserves that.

You went after his Guard Service. Now that was all a massive load of garbage, a smear job where he had a gap in his records, and some idiots in the democrat party made up some garbage that they pulled out of their butts and asserted could have occurred, when they had no earthly idea what actually did occur. The media who is decidedly in hate with Republicans ran with the garbage as if it were 100% true. Even after finding out that the document was typed on a computer that was 30 years or so to be invented of when that letter was dated. WOW

That Bush lied to take us to war? BULL HOOFY! I explained that, the facts are right there, yet people completely over look them. Bush didn't lie us into war. Everyone in the freekin world thought Saddam has WMD. His behavior if he didn't was completely out of whack. Bush had no choice, if he had not gone in it would have been the most incompetent move since the idiot appeasers in Europe called Churchill a warmongering idiot and refused to go after Hitler, choosing in stead to hope they could be his friend. AFTER HE INVADED POLAND
I'm sure that if Europe had actually gone in and stopped Hitler, they would have ravaged Churchill, because there was no way it could have been sure what Hitler would have done. Churchill would be in Bush's shoes now, and the idiots, would still be calling Churchill an idiot, as they do say Bush lied us into war, though the truth is easy to understand, and HE ABSOLUTELY DIDN'T LIE!

I spent a lot of time researching the fuel costs leading to the triggering of the weak mortgage backed securitys going south, and the resulting collapse of the credit system. That is exactly what occurred. A bunch of goop about fuel embargo - Hummer, I'm sorry, those are issues, but those are not THE issue, it's not what pushed it over the edge. I explained what did it. Are you sure you read what I wrote?

Fuel prices that were high because of supply and demand skyrocketed due to futures speculation. Goods and services shoot up because EVERYTHING TIES IN TO FUEL and it's hard to move anything (funny thing, I started truck dispatching with a guy for Admiral Merchants when real estate went to hell, and I saw the whole trucking industry turn to crap so my efforts there failed to make me income, I'm Mr right place at the right time). That strain started affecting jobs, which affected payments on loans. The regulators started evaluating collateral portfolios on mark to market accounting rules some time in there, and marked the collateral down, and banks and other companies who held mortgage backed securities became insolvent or very close to it. The rest is what I wrote, and I've put a whole lot of time into it. Don't just dismiss my exhaustive research for some gobeldy guke someone wrote who probably didn't take near the hundreds of hours over decades watching it and ultimately putting it all together after it happened. I've been watching the fuel situation since the 80s with great interest, none of this stuff is new to me.

Your feelings about Marijuana have nothing to do with what's going on. All the stuff you tossed in tend to make me feel like you have picked this up in an ideological way and the rhetoric is important to you. I don't give a good damn about ideology or likes or dislikes in all this. What actually happened is all I'm interested in. A bunch of bias towards people who like or don't like what religion or what religion feels how about whoever is purely noise to me, it means NOTHING.

Our government has been off and on since it started. Wilson was a real piece of crap who tried a radical socialist take over and put those who spoke out against him in jail as political prisoners, and even Teddy Roosevelt was a little Hitler wanna be, wanting to control the population and the breeding, following the same crap in Eugenics that Hitler did.

No, it's not half and half. Republicans are no angels in history, but they are no where near as problematic as democrats have been. Democrats are taken over by the extremely rich interests in the world that would like to crush the US and divide up the pieces. Democrats are the ones with all the money ... enough to convince everyone that really republicans are, but that is statistically false, and what's more there is huge money and power behind the democrats. Money that's aimed at brain washing the people, taking over education K - graduate school. Taking over the airwaves, news through entrainment industry. They have an assault on that's been going on for decades, and the roots even longer. We pulled out of the internationally connected banking system, they tried to assassinate our president. Can't even remember the president, but he knew enough to tell the bankers to go to hell, too bad later presidents could not have had the guts. Well Kennedy went against them, Bobbie was investigating them look what that got them. They bit the hand that handed them the presidency. Dead.

I am all for religious expression, that's great, even in publicly funded forums. The only prohibition in the Constitution is against the establishment of a State religion, it doesn't give the Feds the right to shut anyone up about their own religion, they just can't make it a State Religion. I agree the crap has gone to far. BUT religion has no place in public policy. The Federal government has NO BUSINESS wielding the power to implement it. Not to allow abortions, or to deny them, there should be no Federal Drug enforcement, these things are limited in the Constitution to the point those things shouldn't ever come into issue concerning the Federal government. They don't have the Constitutional legal foundation to even have that jurisdiction.
