#53567 RE: rich sears #53566

LLEG wins:

-PSNH's president went on record supporting the Laidlaw project.

-CPD will never get a chance to connect to NE-ISO without a plant (without financing).

-Preliminary studies show that the grid can support LLEG with the wind farm (wind farm does not run at 100% capacity for any prolonged period of time. Typically, wind farms run at about 40-50% average capacity). There is also much state support for renewable projects in NH and they require upgrading an aging infrastructure. Obama himself stated that our infrastructure needs to be upgraded if we are to power ourselves well into the 21st century.

-If CPD was close to obtaining financing, they would not go through the hassle of filing a complaint with the PUC.

-Steam is thermal energy just as hot water is thermal energy. LLEG paying for engineering feasibility studies to examine how to provide Fraser with steam.

-Wood studies show that LLEG will not threaten NH forests. A new study by Landvest is due out soon. All details will be included in Laidlaw's Site Evaluation Committee permit.

-Berlin has very little say in what the final determination will be regarding LLEG. The state has the ultimate decision. I have spoken with many people from Berlin, and ~90% that I have spoken with support LLEG.

I could go on as well, but as Rich says "What's the point?" ;)
