Thnx for link. There is no mention of scientific peer review of their research or annotation of same, unlike Sayari's amine work. The limestone-based research, conducted in New Zealand, is apparently in the incipient stages and granted NZ$350,000 over three years. They are aiming at power plants. The limestone must be subjected to an intense 900 deg C and then water steam whereas Sayari's amines regenerate readily at 60 deg C. The question admitted in the piece is whether the limestone process if proven can be cost effective. In any case, there are doubtless hundreds of millions of dollars awaiting those who commercialize a convenient cost-effective CO2 capture process for uses other than at power plants. Sayari has mentioned hospital surgical rebreathers, SCUBA gear, mining applications, submarines etc. along with coal-fired power plants.
