DDB - my mistake, you're right, Doom just hits the ceiling of gpu. On some other tests scaling was more linear.

Btw, just got very good news from the same field - the performance of Winchester/939/90/512 @ 2.5 Ghz is declared pratically identical to FX-53/939/130/1024 @ 2.5 Ghz!

So, now the Winchester in socket 939 is about to become the oveclocker's hit. So far A64 was just somewhat better than P4, but the favorite overclocker's chip remained to be the P4 2.4 Ghz. It costs peanuts and can work @ 3.2 with no pain.

Now, we have a new favorite. The $200 Winchester 3200 can be easily accelerated to the level of P4 @ 4.0 Ghz using air cooling. None of existing P4's under $200 can work at over 3.6 with air cooling. We have a clean kill here.

The difference in charts that Reseller Mike is posting will be dramatic, just give it 3 weeks.

Or if someone would set up a test with 2 graphics cards it would be more likely to make the CPU the bottleneck.
