I agree with you and have been long with this stock since I bought in...When things get interesting, I find it noteworthy to point out the little details...And you're right about the MOR historically having little effect on the PPS, the quarterly report, on the other hand, has (at it does with most companies) a noticeable influence. How the market will react is anyone's guess...Even with a 3Q loss, it will be less than 2Q, so in that respect it's an improvement and good news...We'll have to see...Either way, we've both done quite well so I have no complaints :-).

Jax, you are exactly right. I am usually just a lurker- but agree completely that this stock has not really reacted to previous releases...and news has been rare.

In my opinion, the only consistent way to play this stock is what claytrader routinely points out in his charts...a runup departure from the MA and the a resettling back to it.

Or just buy and hold...which I just cannot do. Too risk adverse. But it has proven itself with this one.

I am out now - looking for proper entry back in.
I hate to say it- but don't forget that gap..

Yes I agree Jax, there are some large buyers that cannot be discounted. They clearly see the big picture here. Also if or should I say when the judge approves the EC, all bets are off.

jaxstraw, I agree with all your comment, especially this one:

"The PPS has been run up on continued accumulation by large buyers.
And I believe they were not just waiting on this MOR and quarterly report but have a team of analysts that see this differently enough to put multiple millions of dollars into this so far.
They re looking at this longer term and bigger profits than 25% or so."

Entities such as SVP and others don't just throw $20 million at a stock on a whim. You can bet that their knowledgeable and experienced team has looked at Chemtura's prospects from every angle, and concluded that it is a very good investment.

And I can't wait to find out who was the big buyer of the $1.30s yesterday. :)
