a 1 dollar trade on the grey sheets? Who cares. The quotes are unregulated. It's kinda like selling your car to your newly licensed son for a dollar. (I don't think you can do THAT any more but you used to be able to). Somebody just transferred 1k shares to someone else with no tax consequence. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.
