what are they not being transparent beyond what they should?

Of course, you can't expect them to put pr or report to you of every client they gain or some business strategies. Most companies only report to you once every qtr and not even entertain you finding out share struture. I am talking about big boards companies.

Let me remind you that FTCH is a pink company and for a pink company, this one is go beyond what one would expect as far as transparency goes.
