Great post Free Neb! I agree.

As we all know, nothing goes straight up (and stays there). Even charts have to 'rinse and repeat' for a continued, forward positive outcome. IMO. Charts are a very positive tool in market evaluation and decision making. In my mind this would be the "history" side.
To me, the "future" side would be the fundamentals. I believe that PR's, NR's what have you, have a direct effect on investor evaluation thus influencing chart movement.

Myself lean on the side of fundamentals, believing that "future" good news can influence "history" chart direction.
I of course am speaking for myself in a long term direction.IMHO

Solid post! I agree that the best traders use both fundies and charts. Ongoing debate but both come into play when the stock continues to move higher Sheff

stervc - It is an age old debate about charts vs fundies...In truth the best traders in the market probably use both. I think the adverse reaction by some to those chartist who grace this board is unfounded. Not only have the charts been right but the chartist generally come here hat in hand providing supplemental info while folks wait on real official fundamental (10q & ks) data from the company...Anyway the great debate will rage on...

I think we will have a test coming up soon of the TA theory that wen the RSI gets in the powerzone lets say 80ish or better yet 90ish a fair amount of poeple will sell and the price will retreat. Some really good technical investors who are long term will simply follow their discipline at that level and shave some...the technicals will relax and the process will start over with new oppoirtunity for side line players to get in...it is not the end of the world or an indictment of the company to know that and say it. The future will still be just as bright if not brighter as ever if EVRM performs as folk think they will...

Of course you know all this but since expert chartist CT or MKA probably wont say anything amatuer chart enthusiast like me can't keep our mouths shut...

P.S. Of course there are exceptions where a stock can run hot in the power zone for weeks/months...if this becomes one of those then we all can consider ourselves blessed...
