Thanks mrfence. I've been trying to get my head around all the short selling stuff for a while and your explanation makes things much clearer.

I know the UK and Ireland (where I'm from originally) had restricted short selling for a while last year but they have eased the rules again.

I hate all these underhand practices and it would be great to see this stock take off despite the manipulations.

Even if you call in an order in Scottrade you can't purchase.... ????
