That was a good 3000 plus years back, since then, I thought we made some mild moral advances, but apparently not. That is the problem with humanity, we are regressing morally, while advancing technologically, a very dangerous combination. Since Abraham managed to abstract the idea of deity into a single entity, and Moses somewhat mollified the Hamurabi codex, not much advances have been made on the moral side. Yes, the talmud made it essentially impossible to inflict the death penalty, and Napoleon's codex and our own constitution have somewhat improved the laws concerning social order. Yet, pure and abstract monotheism was too tough to sell to the masses, so we regressed into more imageries of saints and various deitious pluralities on the theological side, and still have major problems implementing, abstracting and living with the basic tenet of Moses' codex "Though shall love your neighbor as you love yourself". While in Moses times, you had to use the sword in hand to hand combat to exterminate a foe, now we push a button and a cruise missile is launched, whether it carries a payload of WMD, is just a question of time.

Of course, faced with an adversary that beheads innocent bystanders to sow fear and terror, maybe it is nice that we have such technological advantage.
