Bruce, I've lived here 25 years and you are pretty much spot on depending on whether you get a direct hit or not. But regardless it is truly an act of nature like no other. ESPECIALLY the sound you talked about. So deafening it scares the hell out of you. I had a small leaf with a little bit of the stem attached to it driven right in to the side of my house. My house is CBS. So that is a LEAF getting driven in to concrete....AMAZING
