JMkel:

Where do you get that the "neo cons" want to do away with separation of church and state?

Where do you get that the "neo cons" want to change the constitution to disallaw gay marriages? First, does the constitution even "allow" gay marriages?

Where do you get that "neo cons" want to force their religious views onto the stem cell research community? Didn't they just want to keep the government out of stem cell research and let private industry work on that?

Did you read all of my post? If so, you would have noticed I agreed in that I don't think Bush is a true conservative. But let's face it, about the only thing in the Constitution liberals honor is the first amendment, and even that has been twisted and exagerated in its meaning.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..."

I don't consider the stem cell debate to be a religious one, just like I don't consider the abortion debate to be a religious one. Sure, many try to turn it into that, but really it's about the protection of life and defining when life begins. There's no way you can claim any one person's belief is better than another's when it comes to abortion. As for stem cell research, I'll have to admit, I'm not up on all the details, so I'd probably be better of not commenting. I have no opinion on stem cell research because I just haven't taken the time to investigate the facts.

Liberals believe the government should own health care, education, welfare, social security, etc. I find it funny that in every aspect of life, liberals want to expand federal government to control it. Yet when it comes to gay marriage, they claim it's a state/local issue. Please, it's almost comical how contradicting that is. (By the way, I too believe marriage in general should be a state issue, not a federal issue).
