China Kangtai Biotech will license the new no nicotine cigs to major China tobacco companies and will do it soon.
Tobacco makers in China will want to point to alternatives to the heavy nicotine cigs that are their bread and butter as a way of fending off critisism.
The same way car makers put out low margin fuel efficient cars in order to provide cover to sell their high margin SUVs
Cig makers will license and sell CKGTs cigs in the same way.
The new cigs will only capture a small segment of smokers. Small meaning in the millions of users instead of tens of millions.
But even a very small segment of users means multi millions in revenue in China, South East Asia and the USA.
Also, the other shoe to drop is a deal to license in Africa.
