It's incredibly crowded, but everyone should go at least once. You'll want to start way early to find someplace to stay (now is not too soon to look in to reserving a room for next year). When we went a few years ago, we stayed in Lead, just a few miles out of Sturgis.

Beautiful riding, wild event. But like I said, incredibly crowded. We were out in the boonies and bikes would start streaming by at 7 am and didn't stop till sometime after dark.
