I strongly disagree. Cellular levels of HER2 expression allow the cut-off level of the screen to be set in a way that provides proven predictive value. The same cannot be said for EGFr expression.
-- Both EGFr screening and HER2 screening are examples of the old-fashioned kind of personalized medicine, in contrast to K-ras (#msg-41001909); however, this does not imply that EGFr screening and HER2 screening have equal practical value. Within the realm of the older implementations of personalized medicine, there are wide variations and each test has to be considered on its own merits.
