Etrade for sure...however, it is all I've ever had. Power Pro has a sweet platform and is 9.99 per trade or $20 per round trip. I have a savings account with them as well that I just slide living expenses to each month. Also, you can trade with cash you transfer from your bank within seconds! No doubt you will have a margin account.

You don't have mine on there, but I enjoy Scottrade.

I am just about to hit where I unlock the Scottrade Elite, hoping the new tools will be helpful. Not bad for starting with $500 last fall.

They have a real time screener based on your preferences.

Nasdaq TotalView
Level 2
Advanced charting
Option chain - with real time streaming data.
Real time news.

There is a fee for the TotalView and level 2, but with 10 and 15 trades/month it is waived I believe.

$7 in $7 out unless the stock is under $1 and then there is a 1/2% fee.

I have looked at some of the others, but like the stability of Scottrade. I also have an office about 10 minutes from work. Can wire money from my checking account and have it available immediately for stocks over $4 or drop a check off at their office and the funds are good to go on anything my noon the next day.

If you want more info I can send you some links.

TDA has the best software hands down. I will give you a referral :D if you set it up. I like it because of their command center 2.0 and their new thinkorswim. they give free L2 (APEX) for NYSE/NAZ/AMEX/OTC... no pinks thoughafter a certain amount of trades in a 3 month period? so that's cool

TDA langy....

command center 2.0 is good for big boards...they'll give you 6$ trades if you're an active trader, and their customer service is very good
