There ya have it...my wife and I are doing a lot of rescue work with cats and dogs...just got two more today.
People had to walk away from their house...been holding on for two years and just had enough.
We bring them in bath them, groom them take them to the vet and make sure they get all their shots. If they are not neutered then that is done as well. Then the process of getting them settled in begins. Its a process that takes time because the animals are more broken than the people are...they don't have a choice as their world gets torn to pieces and they watch as their people melt down.
When they come in their coats are dull as well as their eyes and after we give them the best food and a lot of love and attention they come out looking great and proud once again. They also understand their situation and they greet each new potential owner knowing it might bring them a new home in that process.
We find it greatly rewarding, it is our contribution to the cause and besides it feeds us as well. We end up with broken hearts when they go but satisfied we have done our most to help them along.
