Scozzafava's dad in intensive care following surgery

A A A William M. Scozzafava, father of Republican congressional candidate Dierdre K., is in intensive care at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, following emergency triple bypass heart surgery Wednesday.
“We are hopeful that he will remain on the road to recovery and be returning home soon,” Ms. Scozzafava said in a statement. “On behalf of my father and our entire family I want to thank the dedicated doctors, nurses and medical professionals who are providing such excellent care. I look forward to returning to the campaign trail to discuss issues such as job creation and health care, which are so critical to all families of the 23rd Congressional District.”
Ms. Scozzafava put her campaign on hold Wednesday to be with her 83-year-old father. The hold is still in effect.
Mr. Scozzafava owns Gouverneur Auto Parts and is a former village planning board chairman and trustee.
