Somehow I don't think that 100 to 1000 share sales are what's convincing whoever has been selling hundreds of thousands, if not millions of shares at 13-14 cents. Even the entire 16k short position is worth what, about 2 grand?
I don't know that it's illegal to short in one account and buy in another, but it sure seems like a lot of work, not to mention an abiding faith in the stupidity of whoever could be "tricked" into selling a huge position when they really thought the stock was headed higher.
