I own Lehman cap trusts and preferred's and never received anything like that. Did you receive that via mail from your broker?

Well that is what Scottrade told me. Everything is now done electronically. I received all the forms for the C/T's to file a claim from Scottrade. Scottrade forwarded them to me per an outside request. So obviously I didn't need to take any additional steps to "register my shares", but if I want to file seperate claims I now have the forms.
So as I said, all my shares become registered when I buy them through my broker.
