My guess would be bonds.

They've been on a tear and with a major stake in bonds you have leverage with the company.

Commons are only worth face value in a sense.

Now if you're buying up the bonds with a purpose in mind ,it would follow that an investment into commons that are dirt cheap might be a good idea also.

And any other big boys that know of your intent would get on fo the ride with commons.

Could be stock as well,they already own 3.7 million shares.

GoldenTree Asset Management had 8,830,504 shares of CEM as of Dec. 31, 2008. It sold 5,122,028 shares during Jan. 1 through March 30, 2009, and was holding 3,708,476 shares as of March 31, 2009. There will be a public record soon, which will show how many shares it is holding as of June 30, 2009. But my guess is same as Jaxstraw’s that the recent investment would be in the bonds.
