I feel that your namesake, Pop! Technology, would be better off licensing NeoMedia's technology. With it the company will be able to market to consumers through a secure, scalable, and verifiable network. Without the IP, Pop Tech, Inc would remain a B2B enterprise using a company's intranet.
It is great that a product can be scanned at checkout and verified that it has been properly handled. Peanut butter scares, meat scares, improperly handled medicines, etc. Lots of reaons for a consumer to verify products. To do this the architecture of said verification will require a reach out broader than a grocery store server. I think the system would have to check with the distributor/vendor.
To make things even better, PopTech will want a consumer to do this while in the dairy section, wine section, fruit and vegetable section, well anywhere etc. And even more so there needs to be a trust developed will want guarantee the website being routed to is secure. Thus the NeuStar approach will provide the runway to launch a much better system.
Good concepts with huge, in a NeoMedia sense, potential.
