My Dime, Byrd's book makes it evident that we could well be witnessing the end days of the great American experiment in participatory democracy.
It appears to be ending with a whimper.
Large parts of the Constitution and Bill of Rights have already been made optional. The major media have been consolidated, and reduced to little more than lapdogs, cheerleaders or background noise. The Supreme Court has been subverted, and Congress is a joke - Byrd and a few other brave voices being the exception.
